- في خطوة تعكس توجه سلطنة عُمان نحو تعزيز حضورها الأكاديمي العالمي وتوسيع آفاق التعاون الدولي، وقّعت جامعة التقنية والعلوم التطبيقية مذكرة تفاهم مع جامعة Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham الهندية، إحدى أبرز الجامعات الرائدة في مجالات التعليم والبحث العلمي والابتكار في جمهورية الهند، وذلك خلال زيارة رسمية قام بها وفد من الجامعة. وتأتي هذه الاتفاقية في إطار سعي الجامعة إلى بناء شراكات استراتيجية مع مؤسسات أكاديمية عالمية مرموقة، بما يسهم في تطوير البيئة التعليمية والبحثية، وفتح آفاق جديدة أمام الطلبة والباحثين وأعضاء الهيئة الأكاديمية، انسجامًا مع مستهدفات رؤية عُمان 2040 القائمة على اقتصاد المعرفة والابتكار. وشملت الزيارة عددًا من الحرم الجامعية التابعة لجامعة Amrita في مدينتي أمريتابوري وكويمباتور، إضافة إلى معهد أمريتا للعلوم الطبية (AIMS) بمدينة كوتشي، حيث اطّلع الوفد العُماني على أحدث الممارسات في التعليم العالي والتقنيات البحثية المتقدمة، إلى جانب النماذج التطبيقية التي تربط بين البحث العلمي والصناعة والقطاع الصحي. وتهدف مذكرة التفاهم إلى تعزيز التعاون بين الجانبين في مجالات متعددة، أبرزها تطوير البرامج الأكاديمية المشتركة، وتنفيذ مشاريع بحثية نوعية، وتبادل الطلبة وأعضاء هيئة التدريس، إضافة إلى دعم الابتكار ونقل التكنولوجيا وريادة الأعمال. كما اطّلع الوفد خلال الزيارة على بنية تحتية بحثية متقدمة تضم مختبرات متخصصة في الهندسة والتكنولوجيا الحيوية والذكاء الاصطناعي، إلى جانب تقنيات حديثة في القطاع الطبي مثل الطب النووي وتطبيقات تقنية النانو، الأمر الذي يعكس مستوى التكامل بين الجوانب الأكاديمية والتطبيقات العملية في الجامعة الهندية. وناقش الجانبان فرص التعاون في مجالات استراتيجية تشمل الذكاء الاصطناعي، والأنظمة الذكية، والتقنيات المستدامة، والهندسة الطبية الحيوية، والروبوتات، بما يعزز الأولويات الوطنية لسلطنة عُمان ويدعم التوجه نحو اقتصاد معرفي قائم على الابتكار والتقنيات الحديثة. وتُعد جامعة Amrita واحدة من أبرز الجامعات الهندية، إذ تضم أكثر من 31 ألف طالب وتقدم أكثر من 300 برنامج أكاديمي، كما حصلت على تصنيف (A++) من المجلس الوطني للتقييم والاعتماد في الهند، إلى جانب حضور متقدم في التصنيفات العالمية. ومن المتوقع أن تسهم هذه الشراكة في تعزيز القدرات الأكاديمية والبحثية لجامعة التقنية والعلوم التطبيقية عبر إطلاق مبادرات مشتركة، وإنشاء مراكز تميز، وتطوير مشاريع ابتكارية ذات أثر اقتصادي واجتماعي مستدام، بما يعزز من مكانة الجامعة على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي. وتواصل جامعة التقنية والعلوم التطبيقية جهودها في توسيع شبكة علاقاتها الدولية وتبادل الخبرات مع الجامعات العالمية، تأكيدًا لدورها في إعداد كوادر وطنية قادرة على المنافسة وصناعة المستقبل في مختلف المجالات العلمية والتقنية.
- In a step that reflects the Sultanate of Oman’s vision to strengthen its global academic presence and expand international cooperation, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences signed a Memorandum of Understanding with India’s Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, one of the leading institutions in education, scientific research, and innovation in the Republic of India. The agreement was signed during an official visit by a university delegation and comes as part of the university’s efforts to establish strategic partnerships with internationally recognized academic institutions. The collaboration aims to enhance the educational and research environment while opening new opportunities for students, researchers, and academic staff, in alignment with Oman Vision 2040 and its focus on a knowledge- and innovation-based economy. The visit included tours of several Amrita University campuses in Amritapuri and Coimbatore, in addition to the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) in Kochi. During the visit, the Omani delegation explored advanced practices in higher education, cutting-edge research technologies, and innovative models that integrate scientific research with industry and healthcare applications. The Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen cooperation between both institutions in several areas, including the development of joint academic programs, implementation of collaborative research projects, exchange of students and faculty members, as well as support for innovation, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship. The delegation also reviewed advanced research infrastructure featuring specialized laboratories in engineering, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence, alongside modern healthcare technologies such as nuclear medicine and nanotechnology applications. These facilities demonstrate the strong integration between academic research and practical implementation at the Indian university. In addition, both sides discussed opportunities for collaboration in strategic fields such as artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, sustainable technologies, biomedical engineering, and robotics, in ways that support the national priorities of the Sultanate of Oman and contribute to building a future driven by innovation and advanced technologies. Amrita University is considered one of India’s leading higher education institutions, with more than 31,000 students and over 300 academic programs. The university has also received an A++ accreditation rating from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and holds a distinguished position in international university rankings. This partnership is expected to enhance the academic and research capabilities of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences through the launch of joint initiatives, establishment of centers of excellence, and development of innovative projects with sustainable economic and social impact, further strengthening the university’s regional and international standing.
